The American Corner program is sponsored worldwide by the U.S. Department of State. American Corner Tetovo is a partnership between the NGO 'Aurora', The House of Culture, the Municipality of Tetovo and the U.S. Embassy in Skopje. The purpose of the Corner is to provide free information to the general public about the United States through books, magazines, CD-ROMs, and complimentary access to the Internet. The Corner also host a wide variety of events: such as cultural programs and guest lectures from U.S. Embassy officials, Fulbright scholars, and others, film and video showings, poetry readings, conversational hours, Readers Club, children's story hours, and many other activities. American Corner Tetovo it is also EducationUSA Advising Center. EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network of over 400 international students advising centers in more than 170 countries. The network promotes U.S. higher education to students around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive, and current information about the full range of opportunities to study at accredited postsecondary institutions in the United States. EducationUSA also provides services to the U.S. higher education community to help institutional leaders meet their recruitment and campus internationalization goals. EducationUSA centers are located in U.S. Embassies and consulates, Fulbright commissions, bi-national centers, universities, and nonprofit organizations. EducationUSA is your official source on U.S. higher education!

Gëzim Sulejmani

Coordinator

Gezim has a Master's degree from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and a degree from the Faculty of Philology at State University of Tetovo. He has attended Associate Degree in Journalism from University of Prishtina and worked as a Journalist in the following daily newspapers: %u201CFakti%u201D, %u201CFlaka%u201D and %u201CLajm%u201D. Gezim is also the co-founder and editor of the weekly magazine %u201CNacional%u201D in North Macedonia. He has been a member of the Association of Journalists in North Macedonia since 2004. He is a founder and president of the Non-Governmental Association and Educational Center AURORA. He has been coordinator of American Corner Tetovo since its opening in 2008. Has written 3 books and has many publications in different fields

Prina Memeti

Information and Resource Specialist

Prina is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in IT in the State University of Tetovo. She has been an active volunteer at the American Corner Tetovo since 2015, has finished the Service, Learning and Leading internship program at ACT. She is an alumna of the KL-YES Program and has previously worked with OSCE as an interpreter on the 2019 presidential elections. Prina was also a camp counselor at the Girl Up - Women in Science camp 2019. She has been working at the American Corner Tetovo since February 2021.
