Cybercrime Reporting at Scale: Real Architecture, Real Impact
Reporting an online crime sounds simple until you have to build the system behind it. Thousands of reports, each one sensitive, each one needing to reach the right people without getting lost or leaked.
At Tech Meetup #4, Ivan Markovski walks through what it takes to build that kind of system properly — the architectural decisions, the trade-offs, and what actually holds up when a platform has to handle real volume and real consequences.
This talk comes out of his own research and his hands-on work on part of the CSI Hotline reporting platform within MKSF. Everything he covers is grounded in a system that was actually designed, built, and put to use — not in theory.
What we'll cover:
- How a reporting system is structured so it can grow without being rewritten
- Handling sensitive data: privacy, anonymity, and compliance built in from the start
- Keeping things fast and reliable when reports come in continuously
- Where theory meets reality — the decisions that look good on paper and the ones that survive production
This is a practical talk, not a slide deck of definitions. Useful whether you build backends, care about security, or just want to see how a system like this works from the inside.
