Are you curious to know how diplomatic negotiations work? Would you like to experience the process by participating in a diplomacy simulation led by a real-life diplomat?
Join us next Wednesday, March 20, at 11:30, at the Faculty of Tourism in Ohrid, for a chance to practice your negotiation skills at a two-hour simulation, guided by Mr. Matt Flannes, Political Officer at U.S. Embassy Skopje.
Mr. Flannes is an experienced diplomat. His previous assignments include Washington, Kuwait, and Beijing. Matt has also worked in Washington as an intelligence analyst and on the United States’ response to the Syrian civil war. Matt received a Master of Arts in Near East Studies and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Arizona, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Middle East Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The National Museum of American Diplomacy’s (NMAD) diplomacy simulations immerse students in skill-building role-play simulations based on real-world scenarios developed by diplomats and historians. During a diplomacy simulation, students practice collaborating with people who have diverse values, interests, and perspectives to reach a mutually beneficial outcome.
