The American Corner in Struga was officially opened on November 30, 2010 and is the fifth American Corner in North Macedonia. This Corner is a partnership between the Public Affairs Office at the U.S. Embassy in Skopje, the Municipality of Struga, and YEF (Youth Educational Forum) as our partner organization. American Corner Struga works as an information center and provides access to book collections, magazines, publications and Internet access for research. Membership is free of charge and the doors of the American Corner are open to everyone interested in information about U.S. culture, education and exchange programs.
Each month there is a calendar with different events, such as presentations on education, society and culture by U.S. Embassy officials, Fulbright scholars and U.S. experts, English lessons and conversation hours with native speakers, practical workshops for IT skills, entrepreneurship and art, leaderships clubs for teens and kids, makerspace & innovation programs, movie nights and discussions, book clubs, and more.
In the field of education, American Corner Struga provides access to materials and advising for studying in the USA, and is available as an alumni center where citizens of North Macedonia who have been to the United States on exchange programs can keep in touch with each other and with their American contacts, and can share their experience with the local community.
