Augusta Philbin - Foreign Service Officer at U.S. Department of State (U.S. Embassy Skopje)
Augusta Philbin is a second tour Foreign Service Officer. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, she worked as a civil servant in the Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and in the non-profit sector on public diplomacy initiatives. She received a BA in Art History from Williams College, an MA in Geopolitics from King’s College London, and a Certificate in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University. Originally from Northern Virginia, Ms. Philbin has lived abroad in Thailand, Vietnam, Germany, and England. She is joined in Skopje by her husband and their three young children.
Nikola Gjorchev - Diplomat from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Nikola Gjorchev served as Consul at the Consulate of North Macedonia in New Jersey and New York from 2021 to 2025. In this role, he strengthened bilateral ties and supported diaspora engagement in the United States. His career includes multiple positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia, where he provided strategic advice and managed high-level diplomatic initiatives. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje and completed front-end development training at Brainster Academy. Prior to his diplomatic service, Nikola gained valuable experience in media as the owner of Tikveshija TV in Kavadarci.
