What are wrongful convictions, what can cause them, and how would you identify and overturn one?
Mistakes in the criminal justice system may occur during an investigation, prosecution, or trial. American Corner Skopje and the Student Assembly at the Faculty of Law are teaming up again, this time on a lecture and presentation on Wrongful Convictions, by special guest, New England Law | Boston Professor David M. Siegel.
Professor Siegel is a former public defender, founding member of the New England Innocence Project, and its board chair. He has extensive knowledge of the U.S. justice system, as well as the causes of wrongful convictions, and has been involved in developing law and policy to reduce the risk that they occur. In addition to his presentation, he will answer any questions.
