The American Corner Skopje was officially opened in January 2005.
The purpose of the American Corner Skopje is to provide free
information to the general public about the United States through books,
magazines, DVDs and complimentary access to the Internet. Besides
serving primarily as a resource center, the American Corner Skopje
hosts a wide variety of events, such as:
All of our services are free of charge.
In the field of education, we provide student advising for studying in the U.S. and we organize events with Fullbright scholars. The American Corner Skopje serves as an alumni center where Macedonian citizens who have been to the United States on exchange programs can gather, share their experiences with locals, keep in touch with each other and with their American contacts.
American Corner Skopje is supported by the U.S. Department of State and administered through the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Skopje.

Nikolija Zlateska
Activities Specialist
Nikolija Zlatevska, has always shown an interest in volunteering and organizing projects. During her exchange year through the KL-YES Program, in Rogers, AR (US), she exceeded 350 volunteer hours and organized over 25 projects that helped improve and build the community! Her experience as a City Representative through American Councils has had an amazing impact throughout Macedonia, with over 30 projects in just 10 months; she is very excited to bring her dedication, love for books and hard work to the American Corner!
Borjan Bojchev
Program and Activities Specialist
Borjan Bojchev has a bachelor degree in Journalism at the Faculty of Law Iustinianus Primus at the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Skopje. He is currently doing his Masters degree in International Relations and Diplomacy at the University of American College Skopje. Previously working at the daily newspaper Sloboden pecat and having background in media, Borjan has excellent communications, writing and speaking qualities.
Monika Spancheska
American Corner Skopje Coordinator
Monika Spancheska holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts, with a Concentration in Film Production from Sarah Lawrence College, New York. From working on film, commercial and student sets, to being a cast member at the Disney Company, Monika has had the privilege of meeting and engaging people of all ages, walks of life and corners of the world. She has experience working in marketing, social media and entertainment, and, having had a positive experience with the American Corner from her own high school experience, she aims to be the help and encouragement current students need to follow their passions and interests.
Vesna Dimitrievska
Activities Specialist
Vesna Dimitrievska is a Bachelor of Science in Economics, graduated at the Faculty of Economics at the University Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. Vesna is part of American Corner Skopje since August 2021 and she also works as Advisor for International Cooperation at the Faculty of Economics - Skopje. Her passion is mountain-climbing, bike riding and traveling. She has experience in organizing events and conferences gained from her previous working experience. Her inspiring sentence is "Find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life".
